Join PACT and the Penn Center for Innovation during Philly Tech Week as we talk about the process of turning an idea into a business. What are the resources available to you as you start your journey? Where do you begin to seek investors and advisors? What about the idea itself? How do you know which startup idea to pursue — and how do you know if it's the right time to pivot?
This program will give you an overview of the innovation ecosystem in Philadelphia: what organizations like PACT are doing to develop resources and catalyze innovation; how Penn is working to grow entrepreneurship and commercialize university startups. We’ll also get some perspective from Josh Kopelman, Partner at First Round Capital, an investment firm focusing on angel, seed, and pre-seed ventures, as well as Apu Gupta of Curalate, a founder who’s built a successful, Philly-based company. We’ll conclude the program with pitches from two Penn-based startups, and get feedback from Josh and Apu. Overall, we hope the program will be educational and informative for the emerging entrepreneurs in the audience.
